General Conditions

Annual closure

IFO remains open on all bank holidays.The school will be closed from December 2, 2019 to January 31, 2019.

Timetable

IFO reserves the right to modify class schedules in case of high attendance: in high season, classes can be staggered over the afternoon.

Levels and programs

IFO does not offer courses for beginners except for tailor-made group classes or private lessons.

Because of our small group size (maximum 6 people), IFO constitutes groups on two levels of the CEFR and practices differentiated pedagogy within the group: A1-A2 / A2-B1 / B1-B2 / B2-C1 (depending on the courses)

Online level test scores for writing and Skype interview for oral will determine the appropriate level.

Registration

To reserve your course, we suggest that you complete the registration form and perform the online written test.

At the reception of the school.

Upon receipt, we will contact you to schedule the oral level test free of charge. After validation, your registration will be complete upon payment of  a 30% deposit by bank transfer to the following account:

You will be duly registered upon receipt of this deposit. You will then receive a registration confirmation with all the details regarding your stay.

Payment

The balance must be paid no later than 1 month before the beginning of the course:

By bank transfer to the account above mentioned.

By check at IFO, 168 place Jacques Mirouze – 34000 Montpellier.

In cash at the reception of the school.

In case of bank transfer, please notify us of the banking operation by email or fax. All bank charges are the responsibility of trainees. Payment must be made in euros regardless of the method of payment chosen.

Cancellation and refund

You have a period of 7 days to exercise your right of withdrawal according to the European Directive 97/7 CE.

Any cancellation must be sent by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt. Cancellation is effective upon receipt of this letter.

The deposit is neither refundable nor transferable except in case of force majeure (illness, family death, accidents) where a postponement of course may be considered subject to presentation of supporting documents.

The cancellation fees are as follows:

  • 100% refund if the cancellation is received more than 30 days before the beginning of the course.
  • 50% refund if cancellation is received between 15 and 29 days before the start of the course
  • Less than 15 days before the beginning of the course, no refund except in cases of proven force majeure.

In case of early departure, the stay is due in full and will not give rise to any refund.

In case of refusal of the visa, the stay deducted from the deposit is refunded if the refusal has been notified to us before the arrival date. To do this, the original letter of refusal from the embassy must be sent to us.

Accommodation costs in host families are non-refundable. For other accommodation types, cancellation conditions depend on the organization and not on  IFO.

The immersion and professional French general courses open as of 3 participants. The “nature and well-being” and “gourmand” courses open as of 4 students. If three weeks before the start of the course, the required number of registrants is not reached, you are informed and can choose to be reimbursed or replace your course with private lessons (the number of lessons will be calculated pro rata of the amount paid).

Security – premises – hygiene

The institute is equipped with two exit doors, in the entry hall and in the small classroom. A fire extinguisher is located in the IFO Bistro. In case of danger or fire, follow the instructions of the IFO staff. Any incident or accident must be reported to IFO by the trainee and witnesses to the accident / incident.

Smoking is not permitted on IFO premises .

IFO declines any responsibility in the event of theft or deterioration of the personal effects left on the premises during breaks or after lessons. They are under your supervision and responsibility.

Dissemination of images and data protection

IFO may take photographs or film during the courses or activities for dissemination as part of the promotion of the Institute. The acceptance of our general conditions of sale at the time of your inscription signifies your agreement, which will remain valid for an unlimited duration.

All personal data collected during the registration of trainees or during the training follow-up are reserved for internal use. They are not assigned or rented, free of charge or for a fee, to third parties. Each user has the right of access and rectification (law of January 6, 1978 amended in 2004). Insurance

IFO has taken out insurance that protects property and individuals on the premises or in case of educational outing.You are not insured by the institute in case of illness, accident or theft during class and extra educational activities.

Claims and litigation

For all complaints concerning the organization or the course of your stay, a claim form is available at the reception of the school. In case of dispute, the court of Montpellier is the only competent authority.
